Christian Student Housing Corvallis

Christian Student Housing Corvallis

Courtyard in Corvallis, Oregon – Home to Oregon State University and close to Linn-Benton Community College – provides a great Christian student living environment.

A Defining Time

College holds more than a cap, gown and diploma for the years you spend there. Who you are as an individual – what you believe and how you will live – are often defined during these few years.

Whether you are attending OSU, LBCC or another higher education program, you will decide who your friends will be, and the type of career you want to pursue. But here at Courtyard, you will also have the opportunity to move forward in your journey with Christ with like-minded people, living in an others-centered environment. The purpose of Courtyard is to provide an encouraging and economical living environment where up to 48 Christian collegiate students, both men and women, can be built up in their relationships with Jesus Christ and with one another.

Courtyard is a community where being a Christian is more than a label. Here, it is being a disciple of Jesus Christ. During this defining time, you will forge friendships with other believers and connect with people who will support you when you need it, and where you’ll be encouraged to live out your faith.

Residents are expected to be active in a local Bible-teaching church body and be engaged in some form of ministry service. Monday nights are Family Night where residents all meet for a great dinner, fellowship, and special activities.

Resident Chore Responsibilities

Elliott Web Dish Duty

Chores can be fun at the Courtyard!

Each resident will have three chores per week as part of the co-operative type living arrangement. There is one meal cleanup or dish duty per week and two housekeeping chores assigned to each resident.  This co-op type life style is one of service and service is a from of worship.

“The difficulties of life do not have to be unbearable. It is the way we look at them – through faith or unbelief – that makes them seem so. We must be convinced that our Father is full of love for us and that He only permits trials to come our way for our own good.

Let us occupy ourselves entirely in knowing God. The more we know Him, the more we will desire to know Him. As love increases with knowledge, the more we know God, the more we will truly love Him. We will learn to love Him equally in times of distress or in times of great joy.”
Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God

Community Service Responsibilities

Each Courtyard resident is expected to attend a Bible-teaching church every Sunday. In addition, each resident is also expected to participate in a variety of community service opportunities for a minimum of 10 hours per term. Many residents may already be involved in community service or serving in their local church and this qualifies. Click here for a list of other community service options. You may be able to come up with your own, as well. Serving is a way of showing God’s love to others, possibly leading to open doors for the gospel. Residents are encouraged to move beyond their comfort zone to reach those in need of the message of God’s saving grace.
